Tried and tested for over 15 years in the United Kingdom, Carbon Conversations are an innovative and recognised method of supporting change in small groups, enabling individuals to move towards a lower-carbon lifestyle, i.e. one that emits fewer greenhouse gases.
The training course will enable a pair of future facilitators to acquire the change management skills and know-how they need to run local Carbon Conversation sessions. Based on a training-action approach, the training includes face-to-face sessions and the facilitation of the first group, for which the facilitators receive support from the preparation phase, followed by mentoring.
As part of the LIFE_LETsGO4Climate project, the aim is to train, free of charge and locally, a large number of Carbon Conversation facilitators, who will be able to lead Carbon Conversation sessions with local residents and their network, with a view to scaling them up and creating a real local dynamic around changing individual behaviour.
The LIFE_LETsGO4Climate project provides for the training of Carbon Conversation facilitators within the project partner territories. The cost of training the facilitators will be covered, in return for which the facilitators will be required to run three Carbon Conversation cycles free of charge over a three-year period.
This call for applications (AAC) invites 5 to 10 volunteer organisations to commit to the deployment of Carbon Conversations in the partner territories of the LIFE_LETsGO4Climate project, by taking part in the first inter-structure training session for Carbon Conversations facilitators.
